The selling and renting of property is a serious business and Chester Energy Assessors prides itself on offering an efficient and professional service. Here is our statement of compliance:
1. All HIPs are compiled in accordance with The Home Information Pack (no2) Regulations 2007 and any subsequent regulations that are prescribed by government.
2. Chester Energy Assessors is a full member of IPPA, the Independent Pack Providers Association, and abides by their standards for preparing HIPs and their requirements for professional indemnity insurance and complaints procedures. Please see the IPPA website for more details.
3. The majority of domestic EPC's are generated by our Principal Assessor, E.H.Fowles, who is regulated and accredited as a Domestic Energy Assessor by Elmhurst Energy Systems Ltd, according to the guidelines in the HIP regulations. His accreditation number is EES/002730. From time to time, associate DEAs will provide EPCs on our behalf, and in these cases the DEA will be vetted by Chester Energy Assessors to ensure they are properly accredited and prescribe to the same high standards of professionalism that we set ourselves.
4. Domestic EPC's generated as either a component of the HIP or as stand-alone assessments are covered by professional indemnity insurance of £1 million and public liability insurance of £2 million. The local authority searches are carried out on behalf of Chester Energy Assessors by companies who subscribe to the Search Code administered by the PCCB (Property Codes Compliance Board) and carry professional indemnity insurance as prescribed by the Code. Compilation of the HIP pack is covered by additional professional indemnity insurance. Please contact us for details of any of these insurance policies.
5. Commercial EPC's and on-construction PEA's and EPC's are carried out by assessors who have the respective NDEA or on-construction accreditation and carry the PI and PL insurance prescribed by their accreditation bodies
